I’m sure like most of you (especially those not working from home) these times have been very strange from our normal routines of life. One of the things for me personally was how odd it felt to have SO much time to do things I didn’t necessarily have time for before. As someone who thrives from being productive, it’s been a bit difficult essentially being forced to shut down. What I’ve learned in this is that it’s okay to not be productive every second. We need this time that we’re given to re-group and relax.
Read a book
I’m a big reader, but because life became so overwhelming, I kind of lost sight on finding the time to actually sit and read a book. Now that life has slowed down, I’m picking those stacks of unread books up for a nice little escape. I wrote a whole post HERE on some of my favorite book series if you need recommendations.
Watch a movie
Since this whole mess has started, I am almost ashamed to tell you guys how many movies I’ve watched. I LOVE watching movies on a regular basis and having all this time now has allowed me to watch EVERYTHING that’s been on my watch list for awhile. Alot of the streaming services have been offering a month free trial and you should definitely take advantage of that. I’ve been watching alot of things on Shudder if you’re into horror/sci-fi.
Binge a TV Show
I’m looking at you Tiger King people! There are soo many good shows out there and this is the perfect time to knock out a whole series. We’ve been watching the new season of Ozark on Netflix which is AMAZING. I highly highly recommend that show.
Yoga/Meditate
Now that we all have some time to just sit and relax, why not do a little exercise a few mins a day. Just taking time out of the day to be peaceful and totally zen can definitely help especially mentally.
Cook a meal
Before the quarantine, I was really bad about setting aside time to actually cook something new. Since I have the time now, I’ve been scoping out Pinterest for new recipes and I’ve been having alot of fun making things! Why not try something different?
Expand Your Creativity
For me, I have my two babies, my blog and my new podcast. I’ve been taking the time to put more thought and creativity in the content I’m producing and that’s keeping things fun and creative. I suggest finding something you enjoy that can get your creative juices flowing whether that be something as simple as paining or coloring.
House Projects
Ahh yes, the never ending list of stuff that needs to get done. We’ve been taking this time to do deep cleaning, sanitizing, organizing and painting. Look around and change up your space while you have the time to do it.
Play Games
I’ve always been a HUGE fan of board games and it’s been fun bringing them out and having an impromptu game night to pass the time. Amazon usually has the best deals when it comes to board games. We recently played the game, Horrified, and it was a blast!
Check in on Everyone
I’m in a few group chats and we all like to check in from time to time. Don’t forget to call family and friends and see how they are doing. Even a phone call makes a huge difference 🙂
