Happy New Year everyone! I want to kick off 2019 with a good old beauty haul of items I’ve recently picked up from both Sephora and Ulta. With all the holiday sales that have been happening, I wanted to take advantage and try out some things I’ve had my eye on. I’ve tested all of these out for a few weeks and I will leave my thoughts below. Have you tried anything recently? Leave your comments below!
Becca x Khloe Kardashian & Malika Haqq Bronze, Blush and Glow Palette– You all know I’m ride or die crazy about the brand Becca Cosmetics. They have the best highlighters and my all time favorite face primer. It seems like Becca has been killing it with collabs lately. I haven’t used any of their face palettes since the Jaclyn Hill one was released, but when they released pictures of the Khloe and Malika palette, I really wanted it. I actually really like Khloe Kardashian so I was interested in this collab. The palette comes in two shades. The Khloe palette is for lighter skin while the Malika face palette is for deeper skin. Being fair skinned, I picked up the Khloe palette and I’m very happy that I did. It’s absolutely beautiful if you’re looking for an all over glow from within look. It comes with a glowy bronzer, two blushes and a highlight. The packaging is very nice and luxurious looking. It has the typical Becca formula and I’m totally obsessed with it.
Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara– I’m very picky when it comes to mascara and I usually tend to use several to get the look I’m going for. That being said, I’m always on the hunt for the perfect one. The Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash is still my favorite, but my friend recommended this one from Milk Cosmetics. I actually haven’t tried many things from Milk Makeup, but I thought I would give this a shot. I really enjoy this mascara especially for getting alot of volume for my lashes, although I don’t notice a whole lot of lengthening. I’d say it’s definitely worth getting, but it’s not my #1 favorite.
Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish in the shade Powder Room– Another thing I am a bit picky with is nail polish because everything chips on me and it drives me crazy. I’ve tried Sally Hansen polishes before, but not the Color Therapy line and I really liked the color so I picked it up. It’s a very soft, shimmery champagne color. It’s the perfect neutral color for nails with a pop of shimmer for something extra. It lasted quite awhile which surprised me. I’ll definitely try out some other polishes from this brand.
Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee Cologne Absolue Pure Perfume– That is quite the mouth full. I went into Sephora and wandered over to the rollerball section and tried out the mini perfume samples. I heard about this particular one from the beauty Youtuber, Samantha Ravandahl and she raved about it saying it was a “sexy vanilla” scent. I absolutely love the smell of vanilla so when I smelled it, I became obsessed. I didn’t purchase it because of the hefty price tag, so I continued to spray it all over me every time I visited Sephora (totally normal). This went on for about a month until Christmas when my friend bought me the mini size. I’m in love with the scent! It’s vanilla, but not too sweet smelling-more musky. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick in the shade Baddest Beige– I love a good nude lipstick, but it can be difficult to find a good shade that won’t make me look sick or dying since I’m so fair. One of my favorite bloggers, Emily Gemma talked about this color on her blog and her Insta-stories and I trust her opinion 100%. So I went to my local Ulta and picked up the last remaining tube on the rack (I guess everyone saw her recommendation that day). Well, Emily was spot on with how beautiful this color is. I was actually a little afraid that it would be too beige given the name, but it’s not at all. It’s more pink with a shiny gloss look and looks really cute.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder– I can’t even express how happy I am that Sephora finally carries CT because I’ve been dying to try all the products! I had heard so many good things about this powder and it definitely lived up to the hype. It’s such a beautiful, finely milled powder that gives an airbrushed, smoothing effect. I’m really glad that I finally got my hands on it!
Belif- The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb– This is another brand that I hadn’t tried before, but I got a sample of this in my Sephora Play Box for the month. This is a great moisturizer. It’s very light and fresh smelling. It reminds me of the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturizer because it has a slight cooling effect.
Morphe liquid lipstick in the shade Virgin– If you’re in the market for a very nude, affordable liquid lipstick, look no further. This is the first liquid lipstick I’ve ever tried by Morphe and I really liked it. It has a slight pink hue to it, but the formula is nice. I especially like to layer this with gloss so it doesn’t look too nude on me.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in the shade Kim K.W.– This was another Emily Gemma recommendation that I’m in love with! Yes, it’s another pinky nude lipstick, but the formula is really great! When you’re a true makeup lover, not all pinky nudes are the same, but this one is very pretty and sheer plus it smells amazing!
