    | Striped Sweater | Knit Hat | OTK Boots | Love Necklace |

So this look was a tad unintentional. I absolutely love black and white outfits so when I saw this striped sweater, I purchased it and when paired with the beanie and black jacket, I got Paris vibes (and also a little Where’s Waldo? if we’re being real here). Looking fashionable when it’s 20 degrees out can be tricky because let’s be real, we all just want to throw on some leggings, hoodies and comfy boots.

The jacket I’m wearing was actually given to me as a gift a couple of years ago and I believe it was from Target. The sweater is on sale for 40% off currently. I got a size small, but sort of wish I went up a size since it’s slightly cropped in the front. I have featured these boots in other posts and that’s simply because I’m obsessed with them. They truly elongate your legs and are super flattering. They’re easy to pair with almost any look and can be a staple piece to any wardrobe.

    | Grey Striped Sweater (40% off) | Leggings | Booties | Tote Bag |

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We FINALLY managed to get a little bit of sun in Chicago, so I took full advantage of it and snapped some pictures outside. I scored this super cute grey striped sweater on Black Friday when everything at LOFT was 50% off, but they still have a sale with everything being 40% off. I love striped sweaters and this one is very soft and cozy. My suede booties are a little older, but I found almost the exact same pair at Agaci for 20% off and they’re actually really comfortable. I absolutely adore this tote bag. I’m usually a crossbody kind of girl, but this oversized bag is great because it fits EVERYTHING and I love the chain detail (got some Stella McCartney vibes going on). Unfortunately, the bag isn’t sold anymore unless you purchase it on Poshmark, but the one I linked above is the same bag minus the chain detail.

    | Oversized Sweater (the black color is currently sold out, but it comes in two other colors here and here) | Dark Wash Jeggings (currently 40% off) | Bow Flats |

Hey everyone! Apologies for the crazy lighting, but I really wanted to get this post up for you guys despite the extremely gloomy weather in Chicago lately. I just had to share these adorable flats with you! I found them online while I was shopping for some Christmas presents and I thought they were the cutest! They are so different from other flats I’ve seen with the adorable bows and the little rhinestones. I’m always a little worried about ordering shoes online with sizing and all, but I took a chance and ordered my standard size (8) and they fit perfectly. I also found this distressed sweater and went up a size for an off the shoulder, oversized fit.

When it comes to foundation, I have tried everything under the sun. Foundation is probably the most important part of a makeup look because it’s your base. Everything else is enhancement. I’m super picky about foundations because my skin is so fair and it’s very dry year-round. Never in a million years would I thought I could find a matte foundation that would work with my dry skin especially because I looove to look dewy. Alas, I’ve narrowed down some of my favorite current foundations, but I’m always looking to try more!

Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation– I jumped on the Jaclyn Hill bandwagon with this one. The woman knows her stuff! I really do love the way this foundation looks on my skin, but (yes there’s a but) even their lightest shade is a tiny bit too dark. That being said, I still wear it and I mix a lighter shade foundation in with it. So, my fellow pale people may want to do the same. If you’re more tan or have deeper skin, this will look even better on you.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation– Ahh the shade range! This full coverage beauty is actually one of my most recent finds. When I say full coverage, I mean FULL coverage. This is a heavy one, but doesn’t settle into fine lines. Despite being so heavy, it doesn’t really look cakey at all.

Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Foundation– Remember when I said I thought I would never fall in love with a matte foundation. Well, YSL stole my heart and the All Hours foundation became my ride or die favorite foundation. Yes it’s pricey, but OMG people! The finish is stunning! Much to my relief, it’s not too matte and it makes the skin look absolutely flawless. I’m already on my third bottle and I can honestly say that I would re-purchase time and time again.

MAC Mineralize Foundation– If you’re looking for a dewy foundation, look no further. This one is the dewiest foundation I’ve ever tried and it’s gorgeous and long lasting. It makes the skin look so  healthy and refreshed.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation– Similar to the YSL foundation and a tiny bit more friendly on the wallet, this foundation is just as beautiful. This is another matte foundation, but not too cakey or heavy. I think it provides the best coverage and makes the skin look beautiful especially in photos!

    | White Tee (on sale for $10.50) | Sweater Leggings (40% off) | Slippers (so soft!) | Knit Hat (40% off) | Blanket |

I can’t believe it’s already December! The Christmas season is here and so is the cold weather. As a person who is always cold, I usually have to wear a million layers in the winter especially in Chicago when it can be in the negatives temperature-wise. However, we’re a few weeks away from Christmas and I really love this time of year. I’m all about the cozy life especially in the cold months, because who wants to go out and dress up in the snow and ice? Staying in is the new going out! Being the true leggings girl that I am, I stock up on sweater leggings because they’re honestly the greatest things ever. Also, can we talk about knit hats? Not only are they super cute and warm, but they’ll save you from bad hair days (or for me, an entire week). I rounded up some cozy essentials that will help you get through these cold winter months as well as some items for around your home that can create a cozy atmosphere.

    -Clothing-

This fuzzy sweatshirt is absolutely amazing and incredibly warm

    These plush joggers

These socks are warm and buttery soft! I purchased one pair and after wearing them, I went back for more

    These fluffy earmuffs

These slippers (because you can never have enough)

    -Home-

-I think this one is obvious, but Bath and Body Works candles are definitely a MUST

-More home fragrances with Yankee Candles. In particular, these wax melts are amazing and have a strong, long lasting smell

-Blankets, blankets and more blankets! If you’re looking to splurge, Barefoot Dreams is the way to go because of how soft and well-made their blankets are. The one pictured above is from Nordstrom. I also like this and this. I also own this blanket from Target and I got the larger size which is exceptional for cuddling.

-MUGS! The addiction is real. I’m obsessed with collecting cute coffee mugs and it drives my husband Chris crazy. I get mine from all over especially Homegoods, Etsy and Pottery Barn, but since Target has been killing it with the home decor, I’ve seen some cute ones there as well.

I could honestly go on forever about cozy things because with everything I buy, coziness is a factor, but I wanted to share some of my essentials with all of you!

Happy Friday everyone! Now that the cold winter months are here (or have been for months in Chicago), I wanted to share a few of my favorite moisturizers, lotions and butters to get through the dry weather. I have extremely dry skin and these have helped immensely, but I do still think these would work for all my oily skin people out there. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried any of these or if you have other recommendations!

    Details

Clinique Moisture Surge– This is my go-to every day moisturizer. I love applying this directly after getting out of the shower because it has a thin, but wet consistency. My husband Chris loves it too. It’s unscented and dries very quickly without a greasy feeling.

Windrift Hill Body Butter– This is one of two body butters I reach for especially before bed. I actually picked this up at a boutique in Michigan over the summer and I fell in love with it. I was thrilled to see that the shop is selling on Amazon. It has a whipped consistency and is very light on the skin. The scent smells very baby-powdery, but not overwhelming.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream-My most recent purchase of all of these! I tried this out while shopping at Sephora and OMG it’s AMAZING. This is the most perfect moisturizer if you’re like me and have very dry skin. It’s watery and light and scentless. It’s definitely a game changer for me.

Sleepy Body Lotion by Lush– I originally read the reviews about this lotion awhile back and everyone claimed that it actually did make them sleep faster and better overall. So naturally, I was curious. I picked up a small sample from Lush and became obsessed. It smells like almonds, lavender and a hint of baby powder. It’s very soothing. I will say that it’s a tad bit heavy so don’t get carried away with the application unless that’s your jam.

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream by Sol de Janeiro– OMG this! Hands down, the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is on of my favorite scents of all time. I want everything in life to smell like this! It’s like a tropical vacation in a bottle. Not only is the scent amazing, but it’s super moisturizing as well. Highly recommend because I have yet to be disappointed from this brand in general!
