May 2019 Favorites

Well, another crazy month is over and I can’t believe how fast the time is flying! I feel like I blinked and May was over. However, summer is around the corner and I don’t know about you, but I’m sooo ready! I thought about all the new things that I tried this month and honestly, there have been so many things that I decided to put them all in a post for you guys! It’s gonna be a lengthy post so grab a snack and a glass of wine!

L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation– In the beauty world, there are literally thousands of foundations to choose from for all different skin types and needs so it’s always nice to find a great foundation for an affordable price. I saw so many youtubers talking about how amazing this foundation is so of course, I wanted to test it for myself. I typically gravitate for more full coverage, dewy foundations in the lightest or second lightest shade (pale people problems). This foundation has a very pretty finish and is actually pretty hydrating which I love. The coverage is a little lighter than I am used to so if you like lighter coverage foundations, you’ll love this. Overall, I like it, but it’s not a foundation I would use every single day because of the lack of coverage. It’s more so, for those minimal makeup days.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Magic Star Concealer– It’s always a little difficult for me to try out new concealers because I’m so loyal to my Tarte Shape Tape, but I trust Jeffree Star’s products and when I saw that he came out with these concealers that are full coverage, I bought one immediately. I definitely wasn’t disappointed with my purchase. With one swipe, it covered the dark circles under my eyes which is really amazing considering how fair I am. The packaging is absolutely stunning and so different from anything I’ve seen. I highly recommend it if you need to hide those dark circles with a concealer that won’t crease.

Farsali Rose Gold 24K Skin Mist– This mist is absolutely beautiful! Everything about it is so luxurious from the finish, to the smell and the packaging. I’m die hard for the Morphe Setting Mist, but this one is definitely a close second favorite. The glow it gives the skin is absolutely beautiful.

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mousse– My favorite fellow blogger, Emily Gemma, recommended this self-tanner in one of her posts so I tried it out myself. In my experiences, self-tanners have always been misses for me because either it comes out too orange looking or too patchy. What drew me to this one is that it isn’t a lotion, but a water based tanner and it pumps out foam. Also, as a bonus, it’s hydrating and is very buildable. Needless to say, it’s the only self-tanner I’ve used that hasn’t given my any issues. It applied evenly, wasn’t patchy or too orange and dried down very quickly. I applied two layers and had a very nice glowing tan. I used these mitts to apply it  so that I  wouldn’t get it all over my hands and they worked very well!

Sol De Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream– I’ve talked about how much I love the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream in this post and this post. I received this cream to try out and I love it! The smell is absolutely amazing (like coconuts!) and the consistency is very creamy and not sticky. I like to use it on my body to get a little moisture when I’m feeling dry.

T3 Curling Iron– During the Ulta Beauty Hair Event, I saw that this curling iron and the interchangeable barrels were 50% off and I’ve been dying to get my hands on it for some time. I’m glad it went on sale since it’s a little pricey. I have very thick and curly hair and wanted a curling iron that would give me different kinds of curls. The great thing about this product is that you can buy the base and individually purchase different size barrels. For me, I bought the base and the 1.25” barrell for larger curls. It works wonders! I curled my hair and not only did it hold the curls all day, but I woke up the next day and they were still going strong and looked absolutely fabulous. I definitely think it’s worth the price if you don’t mind splurging a bit on a hair tool.

Paul Mitchell Flexible Style Hot Off The Press Thermal Protection Hairspray– One of my best friends is in cosmetology school and recommended this product to me. I think it’s safe to say that this is my favorite hairsprays every because it has such a strong hold on my hair and doesn’t make it crunchy like other hairsprays typically do. It’s amazing to use when styling and curling and really helps protect the hair from getting damaged by heat. I can’t recommend this enough.

Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Crème– I’ve heard soo many great things about Olaplex especially from people who have frizzy hair. This crème is really good for smoothing out hair and eliminating frizz. I usually apply it while my hair is still wet. The product is pretty thick so you don’t even need to use a lot and it’s very effective.
