My Favorite Loose Powders (For Every Skin Type)

I’m not sure what it is about face powders that has me so intrigued every time a new one comes out. I love trying new makeup and I’m always looking for something better and better and other than foundation, I think that setting powders can make the world of different for your look. As a skincare addict, I always want my skin to look healthy which is why I try out so many different face powders. These are my tried and true favorites that I rely on no matter what kind of skin day I’m having.

Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder– This one is for all my dry skin people! This Becca powder is amazing for setting your face makeup, while still keeping the face hydrated so it doesn’t look cakey and cling to dry patches. The other interesting thing about this powder is that when you apply it to your face, it feels like water. I have no idea how they do it, but it’s the coolest sensation!

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder– So this is an oldie, but a goodie. I’m pretty sure this is the first setting powder I ever purchased when I started getting super into makeup. This is better suited for oily skin so I don’t use it as often anymore except maybe in the summer. It’s great for keeping your face oil-free and it keeps makeup in place so nothing slides around.

Cover FX Matte Setting Powder– If you have more combo oily/dry skin then this is a great choice. It’s a mattifying powder, but it isn’t super dry. I use this powder the most because it’s very neutral, but has a beautiful, natural finish.

Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder-Behold! My all time favorite setting powder of all time!! This powder is a little more pricey than the rest, but it’s by far the best in my opinion. It’s absolutely stunning on the skin. Not only does it set my makeup, but it has a beautiful glowy sheen and it gives the skin an airbrushed look. Every single time I use this, my skin looks flawless and I can’t get enough of it.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder– This powder is my most recent purchase out of all of these. Now that I’ve been using it for a few months, I’ve been loving it more and more. It’s really great for giving the skin a smooth look and it has a really pretty scent to it. I’d say it can be suited for either dry or oily skin and it’s not very heavy.

I never really think to try new powders but now that I’m getting much oiler skin I should start! I definitely want to try the Laura Mercier because it is a classic so I’m glad you’ve recommended it! Great post!
