Drugstore Favorites

As much as I love a good luxury product, I actually get more excited about finding a really great drugstore gem that works just as well as a high end product. I took a trip to my local drugstore to stock up on a few things and as I wandered over to the makeup and skincare, I thought about how far things have come. I’ve had my fair share of hits and misses, but I think the quality of makeup from the drugstore has vastly improved. The same can be said for skincare. There are hundreds of different cleansers and moisturizers from different brands. It almost seems overwhelming. I thought I would share some of my favorite drugstore products that have truly worked for me. Feel free to share your favorite products as well! I’m always looking to try new things!

-Hair Care-

Batiste Dry Shampoo– I’ve actually tried a few different kinds of dry shampoos and I think this one is the best for the price. They have a ton of different kinds depending on hair color and texture, but I use the one for brunettes since my hair is so dark. I find that it doesn’t leave that white cast like other dry shampoos. Perfect for lazy days 🙂

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hair Mousse– The thing I like the best about this mousse is that it’s nice and light and doesn’t make my hair all crunchy and stiff after it dries. It really helps keep curls manageable and bouncy. I’ll usually take a shower before bed and put this in my hair so that when I wake up, my hair is smooth and voluminous.

L’oreal Color Vibrancy Root to Tip Fixer– This one is a little harder to find because it recently became discontinued, but you can still purchase it on Amazon. I love using this after getting my hair colored, especially when I was dying my hair fun colors because it gave it that extra oomph.

L’oreal Elvive Smooth Intensity Shampoo & Conditioner– The entire L’oreal Elvive collection is really good. I like this shampoo and conditioner as well as the red bottles for color vibrancy. It really helps with smoothing out frizzies and making hair feel soft.

Wet Brush– I’ve never been too picky about hair brushes before. To be honest I used the same few for a majority of my life. It was my mom who told me about this brush. She raved about it and told me that I needed it in my life. So say no more! Let me tell you that this brush is worth the hype! It’s extremely gentle on tangled hair! It literally glides through hair seamlessly (and this is coming from someone with thick, curly hair). It’s pure magic!

Clean and Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub– This scrub is probably one of my favorite skincare products from the drugstore. I use it in the shower and it really exfoliates the skin and makes it feel extra squeaky clean.

Dove Exfoliating Body Polish– This is such a luxurious body polish and the scent is amazing. It has a very spa-like feel and makes the skin feel super soft!

Silicone Face Scrubber– I couldn’t find the exact one that I purchased because I bought it at TJ Maxx, but I found another similar one on Amazon. This was unexpectedly good. I’ve always been intrigued to try the Foreo Luna cleaner, but never wanted to shell out the $50 to purchase it. I found this and it looked fairly similar and it was only $3. It’s very gentle, but effective for scrubbing the face and it really clears out pores.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes– I’ve tried a ton of makeup remover wipes, but I always go back to these because they take all my makeup off without leaving anything behind.

Milani Make It Last Setting Spray– When I discovered this I was surprised a how well it worked. It makes my makeup last all day and even has a nice floral scent

Sonia Kashuk Makeup Blender Sponge– This is a great dupe for the Beauty Blender sponge and works well for applying foundation and concealer.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation & L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation– Both of these foundations are my favorites from the drugstore. They have beautiful, full coverage and aren’t heavy or cakey.

L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara– Hands down, my favorite drugstore mascara and I’ve tried tons of them. It gives amazing volume and length to lashes and is super black.

Jesse’s Girl Liquid Eyeliner– I’ve talked about this eyeliner in another post and I still stand by it 100%. This is a great eyeliner with a sharp tip and is almost an exact dupe for the Kat Von D tattoo liner.

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer-This is an amazing brow pen and super similar to the Anastasia Brow Wiz. Highly recommend!

L’Oreal Infallible 24 hr Eye Shadow– These shadows are SOOO BEAUTIFUL. I have a few different ones and they are absolutely stunning.
